On October 18, 2007, the Board of Education selected Richard P. Burns, Branch Manager of the Kapolei Public Library, to be Hawaii’s next State Librarian. Mr. Burns began his tenure on January 1, 2008, as former State Librarian Jo Ann Schindler retired at the end of 2007.
