About

Welcome to the Waikiki-Kapahulu Public Library! Designed by Cyril Lemmon and Associates, we opened on July 11, 1952, at the Diamond Head end of the Ala Wai Canal. Known for its cathedral-like windows, our library serves “snow birds” during the winter from the mainland, Canada, and other visitors worldwide.

Upcoming events at this branch

Two children wearing pajamas play with toys on the floor.

Join us for a pajama party of stories, songs, movement and rhymes! Storytime improves language and early literacy skills in a fun and engaging environment for your little ones.

Program is suitable for ages 2-5. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
