Aquatic-themed Storytime

March 3, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

school of fish above the ocean floor

Have a whale of a good time at this aquatic-themed storytime!  Join us for a special storytime with Marnie Freckelton, a scientist from the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) currently working at Kewalo Marine Laboratory in Honolulu.  What is limnology?  It’s the study of the biological, chemical and physical features of lakes and bodies of freshwater.

The ASLO Storytellers will read some fun and engaging books that will entertain your toddlers and children up to first grade.  The ASLO Storytellers Program was started by the ASLO Outreach and Education Committee, and enables scientists to interact with the local community and exchange ideas.  ASLO is committed to engaging with the next generation of thinkers, teachers, and leaders by providing a chance for them to meet an aquatic scientist.  Learn a little bit about what they do and why it matters!

Children under the age of six must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.  Should a sign language interpreter or other accommodations be needed, please notify the library at least ten days before the event.
