For the month of December, the HSL Book Group will discuss Code Name Verity by Elizabeth E. Wein. A tear-jerker with an impenetrable friendship at the core of its story, Code Name Verity is classified as a young adult book, though it packs the emotional heft, structural sophistication, and historical detail of an adult book. It has garnered an array of critical, recognition, including the 2013 Printz Honor, Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Young Adult Novel, Golden Kite Honor, and Carnegie Medal shortlist.
The HSL Book Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Language, Literature, and History Section. New members are always welcome. No registration necessary.
