Read and Remember – Exhibits Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor

December 1, 2016 - December 31, 2016

Exhibits at Hawaii State Library commemorating the Pearl Harbor attack

The Hawaii State Library is honoring the anniversary of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor with a number of special exhibits.  Learn the story of the attack from those who witnessed, remembered, and wrote, with an exhibit featuring snippets from the many memoirs and personal histories written about the precarious time.  Experience the attack through a display of the original news reports from the day when citizens realized “This was no drill!”

Both exhibits are accompanied by World War II era artifacts and photographs thanks to a partnership with Home of the Brave Museum and other lenders.

The exhibits and artifacts will be on view in the library’s First Floor Reading Room though the end of December, during normal library hours.
