LEARN HOW TO MAKE A VALENTINE'S DAY POP-UP
CARD

Make a special Valentine's Day card for your sweetheart! This
workshop will be conducted by local crafter Arleen Fujimoto
in the Children's Section. All materials and supplies will be
provided. The Friends of Kaneohe Public Library is sponsoring
this one-hour workshop which is suitable for ages 12 and older.

CHILDREN'S SCIENCE BOOKS EXHIBIT
Salt Lake-Moanalua Public Library (Oahu)
From January 31 through March 9, 2012
The Library will host an exhibit featuring 342 of the latest
science books for children from some of the best publishers in
the United States. The books on display will be arranged in 17
subject categories from Animals, Earth Sciences and Marine Life
to Technology/Engineering. The reading level of the books range
from pre-school through high school although the preschool
through middle school levels are more fully represented. All of
the books in the exhibit can be borrowed with a valid
HSPLS library card. An
annotated bibliography, which reviews and rates the titles, will
be available at the exhibit or at any branch, while supplies

"BLUE" - A HONOLULU THEATRE FOR YOUTH
PERFORMANCE

Meet Blue. Happy in his blue world. This is a simple story of
what happens one day when color comes into his life. This
Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY) show introduces the idea of
tolerance and understanding in an age appropriate theatrical
experience. Blue is filled with lots of fun, humor and whimsy.
This 45-minute performance is recommended for ages 3 and older.
Preschool age children must be accompanied by a parent or
caregiver. Neighbor island performances are sponsored through a
grant from the Friends of the Library of Hawai'i, Marriott
Resorts Hawaii, Ko Olina Hawaii, HMS Host, Meadow Gold Dairies,
Hansen Distribution Group, Armstrong Produce, Roberts Hawaii,
DFS Hawaii, and Toshiba Business Solutions. For more

MEDICARE & MEDICAID
WITH SAGE PLUS

The Sage PLUS Program provides free health insurance
information, education, counseling, and a referral service for
people with Medicare. A volunteer from the Department of Health
will provide information. about this program. Volunteers are
trained and certified to assist members and their families with
questions about Medicare benefits, Medicare Advantage Program,
Long-Term Care financing, and Medicare Part D - the prescription
drug benefit. A question and answer session will follow the
presentation. This one-hour program is suitable for ages 18 and

MOVIE SCREENING

Watch the movie that was nominated for five Golden Globe awards
based on the book by Kathryn Stockett. This is the story of an
aspiring author during the civil rights movement who decides to
write a book about the African-American maid's viewpoint on the
white families they work for, and the hardships they encountered
on a daily basis. Refreshments will be provided, while supplies
last. The movie is rated PG-13 (must be 13 or older or

brings his one-man stage/theater show back to Hawaii. Joe is a
master artist with Wolf Trap's Early Learning Institute. He has

Attorney Scott Suzuki will discuss legal topics which pertain to
Senior Citizens, such as advanced healthcare directives, power
of attorney, Medicare and Medicaid. He will have an open session
where the audience can ask questions about legal concerns, such
as estate planning, guardianship, public benefits, and elder
abuse. Scott Suzuki is a community services Attorney volunteer
for the University of Hawaii Elder Law Program. He has a Master
of Public Health in Gerontology degree and is a lawyer in
private practice. This 45-minute program is recommended for ages

Clear Englebert, a Feng Shui expert and author, will
provide information on how to attract and maximize chi energy
for your home. Emphasis will be on harmonizing your home with
the surrounding landform and stressing the importance of the
approach to your home. He will also explain which type of plants
to select and where to place them. Clear is the author of
several Feng Shui books including "Feng Shui for Hawaii," "Feng
Shui Demystified," and "Bedroom Feng Shui." He has practiced and
taught Feng Shui in Hawaii and California since 1995. His latest
book, "Feng Shui for Hawaii Gardens," will be sold at this
program. A portion of the sale will be donated to each library's
Friends Chapter. This one-hour program is suitable for
