Hawaii’s Winter Readers Rank Among Nation’s Top Communities

The results are in—2,090 readers took up the 2019 Winter Reading Challenge and read 1,601,290 minutes during the month of January to help us surpass our goal of 1 million minutes! The Hawaii State Public Library System was listed by Beanstack as one of the nation’s top performing libraries enabling us to win $1,500 from philanthropist and Shark Tank personality, Mark Cuban!

Congratulations to Winter Readers Jamie Oshiro of Mililani Public Library, Leilani Goldberg of Lihue Public Library, and Noah Schlupp of Kailua Public Library, for being selected as the lucky prize Adult, Teen and Children’s drawing winners respectively. They each won a $100 Amazon gift card provided by local sponsor the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i.
