Thank you for  enthusiastically embracing our new Library Take Out services!

Beginning Monday, June 8, 2020, the Library Take Out Menu is expanding to include more than just pick up of holds:

  • assistance with library card accounts,
  • payment of fines and fees, and
  • walk up information assistance.

Did you sign up online for a library card? Now you can activate your card for access to full range of services.

How to place and pick up a library hold:

1. Go to Library Catalog or call library branch to place a hold on the item(s) you would like borrow.

2. After receiving a notice that your item(s) are ready for pick up, you can schedule a Library Take Out appointment online with the library that is on the hold notice.

The Hawaii State Library is now open for Library Take Out!

Library Take Out service is not available at the following libraries: Liliha and McCully-Moiliili. No book donations will be accepted at this time.

Although our buildings remain closed to the public for now, we are excited to offer Library Take Out as a convenient and safe way to access library books and materials. We appreciate the your patience as we continue to phase in our library services for the community
