April Virtual Reading Challenge | National Poetry Month

Posted on: March 24, 2022 | Category: Uncategorized

April is National Poetry Month!

Poetry can motivate us to find beauty, hope, and power, no matter what we encounter. This April, Hawaii State Public Library System challenges you to read and log at least 600 minutes, and complete any two (2) of the activities listed in the activities badges. These activities will encourage you to read, watch, and listen to poets’ work.

Find and log the activities completed by going to “Log” and selecting “Activity“. Open the badge to see the list and check off the activity you completed.

Three lucky participants will win a $25 gift certificate via a lucky prize drawing, courtesy of the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i. Entries are earned for every 60 minutes read, with a maximum of 10 entries (600 minutes). The more you read, the more chances you have to win!

It’s easy to join! Sign-up or log in at librarieshawaii.beanstack.org or use the Beanstack App on your mobile device. Once you have joined, simply use Beanstack to log reading minutes, and participate in activities and challenges.

There will be additional virtual reading challenges this Spring. In May, we will celebrate Asian American & Pacific Islander Month.

For more information, contact your local library.

In state observance of the Independence Day holiday, all public libraries and library support offices will be closed Saturday through Monday, July 2 to 4, 2022.
