Join us as we kick-off the Summer Reading Challenge! The free event will be at the Hawai‘i State Library in Downtown Honolulu on Saturday, June 3 from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. This year’s theme is E Heluhelu Kākou: Seeds of Knowledge, and we are celebrating Hawai‘i–our islands, people, environment, cultural heritage, literature, history, foods and arts.
Enjoy exciting events by the Hawai‘i Youth Opera Chorus, La Sorellanza singers, a Keiki hula performance, Book bag tie dyeing session, Bokashi composting, and a storytime for children.
There will also be some fun activity stations with the following organizations:
Attendees who visit all of these activity stations and complete the Passport stamp sheet will receive a small reward, while supplies last.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i.
