About

Welcome to the Waialua Public Library! Built by Isamu Abe Construction, our current library is the smallest public library on Oahu. In 1997, the Public Library Association (division of American Library Association) honored it as the “Best Small/Rural Library in America.” In 2013, our library celebrated its 85th Anniversary in grand-style.

Upcoming events at this branch

Book Sale Image - Older Books

Join the Readers Group at the Waialua Public Library on the fourth Thursday of every month from 9:30am-10:30am to discuss the book of the month, and engage in lively (and respectful) discourse with other readers.

The book for March 28th is Light in August, by William Faulkner.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.

Storytime - Kapolei

Join us Saturday at 10:00am for story time! We’ll sing songs, read a few simple stories, then make a craft. Great fun for preschoolers and their parents or caregivers!

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.

Letter written with a fountain pen

Join the Writers Group at the Waialua Public Library every 2nd Thursday from 9:30am-11:00am to discuss the monthly writing topic, share your work, and get feedback from other writers. The theme for April 11th is “Loving This Time of Year”.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
