The Hawaii Positive Engagement Project (HPEP) conducts a 2 day craft and engagement experience held on two Saturdays, the 6th and the 20th of September. Come on the 6th to register for the two sessons then have fun together!
Part 1: On Sept 6th parent and keiki will make a resin keychain and take photos of the experience.
Part 2: On the 20th parent and keiki will make a book then “talk story” with their keiki about the experience.
HPEP staff will help participants engage and connect to each other through a crafting activity using the SHELLS+ concept (SHELLS+ concept youtube video). It is asked that parents and keiki participate in both Saturdays to realize the full benefit of crafting and engagement.
Program is suitable for ages from 7 and older. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver; at least one adult per child participating.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
All programs are subject to change. For a list of upcoming library events, visit the HSPLS Events Calendar.
