UXO Safety

November 30, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Recognize Retreat Report - UXO safety

Representatives for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Honolulu District, will be onsite providing a community-based education initiative on Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) safety on Oahu, addressing the presence of WWII-era munitions that still may be encountered at former training areas across Oahu.

Stop by their table and learn more about the 3R’s of UXO Safety:

  • Recognize: Learn to identify potential UXO
  • Retreat: Leave the area immediately if UXO is suspected
  • Report: Notify proper authorities

This simple yet crucial message aims to empower Oahu residents with the knowledge of UXO safety, specifically,  where UXO are more likely to be found, and what to do when encountered.
