In this workshop, attendees will learn about eating competency and how to build healthy relationships with food and promoting enjoyment in eating. Attendees will practice these skills with real-life scenarios.
Monica is a resident of Kaneohe, Oahu she is a wife, daughter and mother to Victor and Teresa. After completing her bachelors and master’s degrees in Southern California she took her first position as a Registered Dietitian in Hawai’i at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. Her introduction to community and research began there, where she developed a passion to addressing the broader problems that communities face in trying to improve health through food. Currently, she is an associate professor and dietetics program director at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
