We apologize for the inconvenience, but today’s event is cancelled.
Stretching and core strength is important in helping to prevent injuries for people as we age, and yoga is one of the most popular ways to keep us limber. Studies show that practicing yoga can reduce stress, reduce inflammation, ease anxiety and depression, improve balance, increase strength, and help you get better sleep.
This free 1 hour session generously taught by Wahiawa community volunteer, Zoe, will teach you the basics of yoga and will aim to give you a workout without the stress on your body. This event is part of Wahiawa Public Library’s Mind-Body Therapy Series, which consists of two different classes–one on yoga and one on meditation. Please see the listing for Cultivating Mindfulness Through Meditation also offered once a month.
Class will be held in library meeting room. Current limit of 15 participants. Please call the library at 808-622-6345 to register. The day before the event is the last day to register. Guests are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats; however, the Friends of the Wahiawa Library have provided a few extra mats for guests who do not have them. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. All ages are welcome to attend.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible.
