Do you love animation? How about animated movies? Kaimukī Public Library will be hosting an AniMaytion Celebration movie series program throughout the month of May. This program series encourages younger (and older) viewers to engage with different art styles that animated films use to show rich and engaging storytelling.
This week, the Library will be showing The LEGO Movie (2014).
The first-ever full-length theatrical LEGO movie follows Emmet an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person (the MasterBuilder) and the key to saving his LEGO world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers — including an old mystic and LEGO Batman — on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the universe together — a journey for which Emmett is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared. Now the fate of the world is in his tiny yellow hands.
This movie is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association for mild action and rude humor. Parental guidance is suggested.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change. See a schedule of upcoming events on the HSPLS Events Calendar.
