Tom Peek, Volcano author of the nationally award-winning novels Mauna Kea and Daughters of Fire will read from his Hawaiʻi novels, discuss the books, and offer tips on how to jump start your own writing projects and bring them to completion. All are welcome to this free event, sponsored by the Friends of the Libraries, Kona. Signed copies of Tom’s novels will be available for purchase, with a portion of the sales donated to the Friends of the Library.

Tom’s page-turning Hawaiʻi novels have been widely praised for their depth and authenticity. An acclaimed writing teacher, his popular Empowered by the Pen workshops have encouraged countless islanders to write down their own stories, poems, essays, and family histories.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
