Book Club: “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents”

July 12, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Cover of "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents" by Isabel Wilkerson.

Join the North Kohala Book Club outside on the lanai to discuss Caste: The Origins of our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson. Discover America’s hidden caste system, a rigid social hierarchy one is born into. By comparing the history of the American caste system to those of India and Nazi Germany, Wilkerson explores how castes are created and maintained, who benefits, and how such systems can be dismantled.

The North Kohala Book Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 11:00am to discuss a title chosen by the club’s members. For more information contact North Kohala Library at 808-889-6655. Recommended for ages 18 and older.
