This month’s book club pick is Solito, a memoir by poet Javier Zamora. At nine years old, Zamora made the long journey from El Salvador to join his parents in the United States; expected to last two weeks, the trip ended up taking two months. Along the way, he faced numerous dangers, but also found himself surrounded by the love of his fellow migrants who protected him like an unexpected family.
Copies of the book are available at the library’s circulation desk. All books read are selected by members of the group.
