Celebrate Dia de los Muertos – Decorate a Sugar Skull

October 21, 2022 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

sugar skull

Originally an Aztec ritual commemorating the dead, Dia de los Muertos  is celebrated in Mexico, Spain, Italy, the Philippines and Central and South America on November 1 and 2.  Día de los Muertos is a spiritual and festive  time where families get together to remember and celebrate their lost loved ones.

Brightly colored sugar skulls, along with candles, marigolds, photos and favorite items of the deceased, are placed on an altar, or “ofrenda”, in memory of children and adults.

Celebrate loved ones with us by painting bright and colorful clay sugar skulls!   Materials provided.  Supplies limited.

Recommended for ages 12-18.
