Daytime Sun Viewing

July 13, 2019 @ 10:30 am - 11:15 am

Sun shining

In celebration of the 2019 Summer Reading Program!

Learn a little about how the Sun works, and then view the sun through specially filtered binoculars and telescopes. See sunspots, filaments and flares (if there any during the viewing time). Staff from the University of Hawaii’s Institute for Astronomy will be conducting this interactive and educational program. Viewing equipment will be provided.

This free 45-minute program is suitable for all ages. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.

Sponsored by the Friends of Manoa Library. This program is a production of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with funding and support provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days prior to the program date. We will make every attempt to fulfill all requests for accommodations. All programs are subject to change.
