Demonstrating Jazz Styles

Musician Dean Taba and special guest Noel Okimoto will offer a selection of songs

from the greats throughout the age of jazz. Dean Taba is a highly regarded studio

and freelance musician who has performed and recorded with a variety of local and

national musicians. Drummer Noel Okimoto has been playing professionally since the

age of ten. He is the percussion section leader of the historic Royal Hawaiian Band.

This 45-minute program is suitable for ages five and older. Young children must be

accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.

College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with additional funding

provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Hawaii State Foundation

on Culture and the Arts, and the University of Hawaii.
