Dyslexia 101 Series: Part 1

Come join us in this three part film and discussion series.

Part 1: Parents: Trust Your Instincts

Parents and other family members spend the most one-to-one time with their children. Our goal of this presentation is to help parents recognize the signs of dyslexia so that they may seek appropriate help for their children.

The Dyslexia 101 Series is brought to you in collaboration with the Hawai’I Branch of the International Dyslexia Association.

January 29th @ 5:30

Part 2: Learning to Read With Structured Literacy Instruction

Structured Literacy Instruction is important for teaching children with dyslexia to read.  In this presentation we provide an overview of the principles of Structured Literacy including a tutoring demonstration.

February 25th  @ 5:30

Part 3: Life with Dyslexia: A Panel Discussion

In this film we hear from three young adults who share their personal perspective on living with dyslexia.  They candidly talk about their successes and struggles with transitioning from high school to college and the workforce.
