Please join us for a performance by students from Waianae Elementary School as part of the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus’ “E Mele Kākou (Let’s Sing)” program. This 12 session program provides the basis of music through choral music with the exclusive use of Hawaiian literature.  Participating students will master important performance while focusing on the music and poetry composed by Hawaii’s ali’i (royalty).  It also includes instruction on music theory, Hawaiian history, hula and Bel Canto singing technique.  The program culminates with a tour of ‘Iolani Palace and a performance with the Royal Hawaiian Band.
