Falling Safely for Seniors with Kupuna Aikido

August 5, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

senior, falling

Falling is one of the most common ways seniors (55+) sustain serious injuries, and it is preventable. Kupuna Aikido will demonstrate how to reduce your risk of falling and techniques that can reduce serious injury from falls. Learn the proper way to fall to help protect your head from injury and prevent or reduce significant injury such as broken hips, pelvis, arms, or shoulders. There will be no physical audience participation required.

Kupuna Aikido is a 501(c)3 organization made of volunteer senior Aikido instructors who are concerned about kupuna falling and getting hurt.

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures for you, our patrons, and our staff.  You must follow all posted instructions while visiting and/or participating in library programming.  An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.  By visiting and/or participating in library programming, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.  Please help keep each other healthy.
