Learn how to make floral lei po’o also known as haku lei.
Lana Dorr was born and raised on the North Shore and a Kahuku High School Graduate (class of 2017). She graduated with a BA in Archaeology in 2021 and has been working as a cultural educator at Waimea Valley for nearly two years. One of her responsibilities at the valley is leading lei making demonstrations and activities. She has learned so much from cultural practitioners at the valley and is excited to share this knowledge with her North Shore community. For this program she’ll lead an activity and demonstration for all participants to make a lei po’o (also called a haku lei) using fresh flowers, greenery, and rafia binding.
Supplies will be provided for the first ten patrons who pre-register by calling 808-239-8935.
