Frightfully Fun Film: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Join us in the First Floor Reading Room and spend the afternoon with Jane Austen—like you’ve never seen her before!

1:00 p.m. – Immerse yourself in the world of Jane Austen with a fun game and special welcome from the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA), Hawai’i Region. Enter a drawing for a chance to win books from Stephanie Barron’s Being a Jane Austen Mystery series.

1:30 p.m. Movie Screening – Watch an exciting adaptation from the Being a Jane Austen Mystery series by Seth Grahame-Smith. Costumes optional: Regency, Zombie, or come as you are.

This movie is rated PG-13 and parents are strongly cautioned that some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Contains intense sequences of violence and action, and some strong language.  Young children need to be accompanied by either a parent or legal guardian.

JASNA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and fostering appreciation for the life and works of Jane Austen, one of the most beloved authors in English literature. Established in 1979, JASNA brings together people who share a love for Austen’s novels, letters, and her enduring cultural impact.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
