Hawaii Ulu Cooperative – Breadfruit Tasting & Talk Story

In keeping with this year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme of ʻUmeke Kāeʻo (a well-filled calabash), come join us on Saturday, June 27th from 11am-12m, as we taste ‘ulu (breadfruit), as well as other “canoe” crops that have fed Hawai‘i for generations. Kiara Bacasen of the ʻUlu Cooperative will provide yummy samples and show us all the delicious ways these locally grown starches can be prepared. You’ll be inspired to incorporate them into your regular diet!
The ʻUlu Cooperative collaborated with Chef Sam Choy on, Sam Choy’s ʻUlu Cookbook: Hawaiʻi’s Breadfruit Recipes. Copies of this local best seller will be on sale at the event.
