Hawaii Ulu Cooperative logo

Join us on the lanai for informative presentation by the Hawaii ‘Ulu Cooperative. Learn about the organization’s mission, watch a short film, and discover ways to prepare this dietary staple.

This program is free and suitable for all ages. All programs are subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days before the program date.

‘Ulu, or breadfruit, is a traditional Polynesian staple now being “rediscovered” as an incredible source of gluten-free, high protein, low fat starch. It is rich in calcium, magnesium, essential amino acids, vitamin A, C and B complex groups, and is better for you than other starches like potatoes, wheat and rice! –from the website: http://www.eatbreadfruit.com/
