Hawai’i’s Reef Fish: Food, Science, and Tradition

Join local author Cassie Pardee and learn about what fishery scientists do and how their data is shared with our local community.

Her book Hawaiʻiʻs Reef Fish: Food, Science and Tradition provides local recipes with information about the biology, ecology and traditional Hawaiian uses of coral reef fish.

The presentation is recommended for all age groups (8 years and up) and includes a hands-on microscope activity.


Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible.
