Hawai’i’s Reef Fish: Food, Science, and Tradition

Author Cassie Pardee of Poseidon Fisheries Research will talk about the work of fishery scientists and how they share their data with our community. Her book, Hawai’i’s Reef Fish: Food, Science, and Tradition (co-written by Craig Omori), presents local recipes with information about biology, ecology, and traditional Hawaiian uses of coral reef fish.

This program is for a general audience (suggested 8 years and up) and includes a hands-on microscope activity.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change.
