Hula Ku’i Performance by Muolaulani

June 27, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm

Muolaulani hula dancers

Celebrate the 2018 Summer Reading Program!

Kumu Hula (Dance Master) Michael Pili Pang and his Mu‘olaulani dancers will showcase hula with a contemporary flair, to tell the stories of Hawai‘i and its rich culture. For the Summer Reading Program, the group will perform Hōkūleʻa, Nani Venuse (Beautiful Venus), and Na Po which describes the phases of the moon and is often called the Hawaiian Farmer’s Almanac.

This 45-minute program is recommended for ages 5 and older. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i and the 2018 Summer Reading Sponsors. This is a production of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with additional funding and support provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and the University of Hawaii.

All programs are subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days before the program date.
