Through fun, interactive activities and beginner-friendly instruction, this two-part series introduces children, teens, and families to American Sign Language (ASL). Participants will learn everyday signs, fingerspelling, and visual communication skills through games, storytelling, guided practice, and group participation. Please RSVP in advance for this two-part series at the library or by calling 808-693-7050 during open hours. Walk-ins will be allowed if space is available. All ages are welcome to participate, but young children must be accompanied by an adult. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library Kapolei.
All programs are subject to change. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. See a schedule of upcoming events on the HSPLS Events Calendar.
