Kalawina: The Napkin Artist

April 1, 2019 - April 28, 2019

seven oil on canvas paintings in frames on a black tablecloth

Pearl City Public Library is excited to show the work of this talented Hawaii artist during the month of April!

Kalawina has been creating art for more than thirty years. He is best known for his ink on napkin drawings, but has recently branched out to oil on canvas. He believes his mixed Portuguese, Spanish, Hawaiian, and Chinese heritage has blessed him with his artistic genes, and plans to keep creating for as long as he is able. -Adapted from February 1993 “Our Honolulu” piece by Bob Krauss
