La’au Lapa’au with Kumu Kapua Sproat Fonoimoana and Kumu Carol Anamizu

August 20, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Mortar and pestle

Plants which can flourish in your own yard can nourish your body and provide healing as well. We can learn of the plant properties and the varieties kūpuna have used. Mrs. Sproat Fonoimoana admonishes us that medicinal use of herbs is a long study and not to be administered without enough information. She has been dedicated to the study of Hawaiian plants for more than two decades. Please come to learn from established Kumu who have ‘ike to share with the community.

This event is generously co-sponsored by the Key Project, Kaiāulu (KS), and the Friends of the Library Kahuku (FOLK).

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
