In partnership with the East Hawai’i Master Gardeners we will be offering a free gardening workshop.  The indigenous plant that you will be working with is Lau Pele, which is also known as Tongan Spinach or Bele Spinach.  It is an edible green plant that can be eaten raw or cooked.  You will learn how to plant, propagate, harvest, and prepare this delicious nutritious leaf.  This workshop is aimed for adults.  If interested sign up by calling the library or coming in person.
