Library Book Club: Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison

March 14, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Orange is the New Black cover

The Library invites readers to join a discussion of the book “Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison” by Piper Kerman.

“With a career, a boyfriend, and a loving family, Piper Kerman barely resembles the reckless young woman who delivered a suitcase of drug money ten years before. But that past has caught up with her. Convicted and sentenced to fifteen months at the infamous federal correctional facility in Danbury, Connecticut, the well-heeled Smith College alumna is now inmate #11187–424—one of the millions of people who disappear “down the rabbit hole” of the American penal system.” Amazon.com

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
