Library Pen Pals

February 3, 2026 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 8:00 am on Monday, repeating until March 10, 2026

Waipahu Public Library is embracing snail mail from March to June 2026 and bringing back the art of letter writing. Our newest program is connecting pen pals from 11 to 16 years old from Hawaii State Public Library System (Oahu), to Pierce County Library System located in Washington State. The letters are handwritten instead of typed out and dropped off or picked up at Waipahu Public Library (one letter per month).

Please pick up your welcome kits with our Children’s librarian at the Reference desk. Packs are limited (10).

All programs are subject to change Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
