Mak & Tea: Author/Illustrator Duo

Please help us in welcoming our Special Guests Mackenzie Joy and Tony Piedra, the Author/Illustrator duo known as Mak & Tea as they read Pau: The Last Song of the Kauaʻi ʻŌʻō, their latest book, and more! For this picture book, Mak & Tea consulted with Kauaʻi Forest Bird Recovery Project to create this wonderful book that honors the ʻŌʻō bird, Kauaʻi’s endemic bird species.

Did you know?  The ʻŌʻō (oh-oh) got its name from the sound of their call. These magnificent vocal birds were last seen in 1985 and were sadly last heard in 1987.

We would like to mahalo (thank) the Friends of Kaimukī Public Library for funding the snacks for this program; they will be made available at the end of the program.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible.
