Tom Coffman has been a reporter, historian, documentarian and author of several books focusing on modern Hawaiian political history. His body of work, spanning 50 years, documents the contributions of the Nisei veterans in shaping post-war Hawaii into a more equitable and just society.
His widely read Inclusion describes the crisis brought down on the Japanese community by the Pearl Harbor bombing, as well as the heroic response of the Nisei, their allies, and supporters.
