Movie Screening: The Secret Life of Bees

In honor of African American History Month, the Library will be showing The Secret Life of Bees, based on the popular novel by Sue Monk Kidd. 14-year old Lily Owens (Dakota Fanning) escapes her troubled and lonely life with her caregiver to a South Carolina town that may hold the secret to her mother’s past. While there, she learns about the world of beekeeping, honey, and the Black Madonna.

This film is Rated PG-13. Free popcorn will be served while supplies last. This program proudly sponsored by Friends of the Libraries, Kona.
