Salt Lake-Moanalua Public Library’s Magazine Room transforms into a Theater, complete with popcorn and conversation for our musical film series.

Film buff Dan Devaney, is eager to share our favorite films. Dan is a retired attorney who practiced business law in Hawaii for over 30 years. He now spends much of his time gardening, cooking, working on classic cars, and of course watching movies.

Now Showing: Moulin Rouge! (2001), directed by Baz Luhrmann, is a musical set in Paris’ famed cabaret, where a young poet, Christian, falls in love with beautiful and tragic courtesan, Satine. Blending pop songs with 19th century romance, creating a spectacle that explores themes of love, sacrifice, and artistic passion. A celebration of love and pursuit of dreams.
