In partnership with the East Hawai’i Master Gardeners we will be offering a free gardening workshop. The plant you will be working with is Sunset Solo Papayas. Papayas are a Hawai’i staple crop growing abundantly year round due to our warm tropical climate. They are an excellent source of vitamin C, potassium, and digestive enzymes to aid in healthy digestion. One tree can produce an abundant harvest in as little as 6 months. This workshop is keiki friendly (suitable for ages 5 and up). If interested sign up by calling the library or coming in person.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change.
