Children’s Book Authors Mackenzie Joy and Tony Piedra (Mak and Tea) will be at Lihue Library on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 5:000 pm to talk about and read their book about the ʻōʻō, an extinct Hawaiian forest bird. The last recorded song of the bird was made in 1987 on Kauaʻi. The authors collaborated with the Kauaʻi Forest Bird Recovery Project in the writing of this book. Members of the Hawaiian Forest Bird Recovery Project will be on hand with takeaways and information about the project. This event is free and open to all ages.
