Plantation Days: Talk Story with Pieper Toyama

Family Stories From the Plantation and Beyond Book Cover

Come and hear Pieper Toyama, author of Family Stories from the Plantation and Beyond, talk-story about plantation days on the Hamakua Coast on the Big Island. A proud graduate of Paʿauilo School and Honokaʿa High School, he will share personal family stories and talk about life as it really was on the Paʿauilo sugar plantation in the 1950s and 60s. Come talk story!

This program is suitable for teens and adults.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
