Join us for a storytelling workshop for young writers Thursday, June 20th, 4:00-5:30 PM at Liliha Public Library!

What superpower do you wish you had? What strengths and skills are already yours? In this storytelling workshop with novelist Kristiana Kahakauwila you’ll write and/or illustrate a scene where your superpower gets used, perhaps with unexpected results. Writing and art supplies will be provided.

Kristiana Kahakauwila is the author of the middle grade novel Clairboyance (HarperCollins, May 2024) and the short story collection This is Paradise (Hogarth, July 2013). She is the Director of the creative writing program at University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. If she could have any superpower, she would choose to breathe underwater

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
