An event every month that begins at 3:00pm on day Third of the month, repeating until August 16, 2018
Read to the registered therapy dogs of K9 Hawaii. All the dogs that participate are specially trained and can help kids practice reading aloud without judgment. Recent research has shown that reading to therapy dogs can boost reading skills in children, as well as help with emotional and social skills. If you want a comfortable setting to practice your reading fluency, reading comprehension, or comfort with canines in general, this is the event for you.
A sign-up sheet for 15 minute sessions with a dog will be posted on the library’s meeting room door the day of the visit at 2:30 p.m.
All programs are subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days before the program date. For a list of upcoming library events, visit www.librarieshawaii.org/events.
