Regional Architecture in Hawaii during the 1920s and 1930s

Dr. Don Hibbard will examine the development of a regional architecture in Hawaii during the 1920s and 1930s with special emphasis on the work of Charles C. Dickey, Hart Wood and Bertram Goodhue. Dr. Hibbard has worked as an architectural historian in the historic preservation field since 1975, both in the private sector and with state governments. He has also taught courses on historic preservation and architectural history at both the University of Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University, and authored several books on Hawaii’s architectural history. Program will be held in the first floor reading room at the Hawaii State Library.
