Calling all creators, foodies, and researchers!

HSPLS’s Summer Reading Challenge theme is ʻUmeke Kāʻeo and the Friends of the Princeville Library are celebrating by inviting all creators, foodies, and researchers – individuals or collaborating friends or family members – to enter a ‘Researched Recipe’ diorama in our special exposition

ʻUmeke Kāʻeo means – The full calabash, both full of the nourishment of good food, and full of knowledge.

June 30 – July 31. Prizes will be awarded in several categories and age levels!

What is a diorama?

…A 3d miniature representation of a theme or story – often constructed from repurposed shoe boxes, or similar sized boxes; a variety of materials and mixed media are utilized to create engaging story scenes.
