Science @ Your Library Series: From Floral Biology to Seed Physiology-Applied Research to Conserve Kauai’s Rare Flora with Dustin Wolkis & Seana Walsh

Dustin Wolkis is the Seed Bank Curator and Laboratory Manager of the National Tropical Botanical Garden (NTBG) where he oversees seed conservation physiology research and serves as Deputy Chair of the IUCN Seed Conservation Specialist Group. Dustin earned his Masters of Science in Plant Biology and Conservation from Arizona State University. 
Seana Walsh is the Conservation Biologist of NTBG where she leads activities to implement the Hawai‘i Strategy for Plant Conservation. She earned her Masters of Science in Botany from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
Dustin and Seana are both Affiliate Graduate Faculty at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
For this installment of Science @ Your Library, Dustin and Seana will introduce the conservation status of the Hawaiian flora and then highlight student and other collaborative research projects they are leading in order to help guide management for rare plant species on Kaua‘i.
